What is a notary and how can we help you?
I as a Notary am a qualified lawyer and an officer of the law who holds an internationally recognised public office. Notaries are members of the third and oldest branch of the legal profession in the United Kingdom. I am appointed by the Archbishop of Canterbury and am subject to regulation by the Court of Faculties. I am a member of the Law Society and the Notaries Society. The rules which affect Notaries are very similar to the rules which affect Solicitors. We must be fully insured and maintain fidelity cover for the protection of our clients and the public. We must also comply with stringent practice rules and rules relating to conduct and discipline.
As a notary I prepare, attest, authenticate and certify deeds and other documents, for use anywhere in the world. One of my primary tasks is to acts as an impartial and independent witness in authenticating and certifying the execution of documents, whether by companies, organisations or individuals, required or intended for use outside the UK. My signature and official notarial seal renders documentations acceptable, as proof of the matter attested by me, to the judicial and other public authorities in the country where they are to be used.
It is important to note that legal requirements vary from country to country and further authentication and legalisation from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office or applicable Embassy or Consulate may be necessary in addition to my notarial seal.
